Quilling is the art of paper filgrée, which dates
from the sixteenth century. The word ‘quill’ comes from the Old French
‘ceuill’ and means to curl or coil.
Narrow strips of paper are curled, coiled and set on edge to create
intriguing dimensional designs. It was a very popular art form during the
late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries and has been revived over
recent years.
Our original designs combine tradition and whimsy
in a range of unusual greetings cards for all occasions.
Sue has used her computer to design and print backgrounds for many
cards, and to add appropriate wording for special occasion cards.
Candles
Steve is a skilled candlemaker specialising in
well-finished candles in bright colours.
Each candle is handmade using the finest paraffin wax, and will
glow delightfully as it burns. The
dyes are blended to give consistent colours and the wicks are carefully
primed to give a steady, even flame for several hours.
